About Gregory Paul Brown, MFT

Gregory Brown, Psychotherapist

I am licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, who studied at Antioch University Los Angeles, earning a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology, and who has over twenty years' experience as a mental health therapist, counselor, and life coach.

I also have extensive training in Expressive Arts Therapy and so, in addition to talk therapy, I offer creative ways to help you understand yourself and to help you grow:

In addition to my work counseling young and mid-life adults, I really enjoy working with teens: I have spent many years working with youth in special education, along with teaching and coaching high school students to be peer counselors and peer mentors.

I appreciate and affirm all traditional and non-traditional lifestyles and relationships and ways of expressing mutual love, as well as philosophical and spiritual orientations.

How I Help

I listen to you with compassionate care, and unconditional positive regard. I affirm, suggest, make observations, and ask questions designed to help you understand yourself better, identify, talents, strengths, and abilities that you can use to achieve and create positive change in your life and experience. I may also teach you new skills to help you grow and empower yourself.

Most importantly;

I'll help you cope with stress better by teaching you techniques for dealing with anger, depression, and grief.

If you have trouble saying no to others and taking care of yourself, I'll help you learn how to do this without feeling guilty or selfish.

I can teach you communication skills so that you will find yourself able to express your feelings in a calm, clear way, and even become a better listener yourself. You will find that as you communicate better, say no when appropriate, manage your anger, and take better care of yourself, your self-confidence will build and relationships will improve -- as will your ability to feel happiness and even joy.
