Young Adults and Therapy
Young adulthood (ages 18 to 45 or so) is an exciting and stressful time of
life. You're just starting out in life and trying to
find your way. You've become an independent adult
who may be facing a variety of challenges:
- Career decisions or uncertainty;
- Critical parents or relatives who won't
accept your life choices, or who
may be demanding or controlling towards you like
you're a still a child;
- Perhaps you've been shouldered with caring
for an aging parent;
- Maybe you are confused or hurting because of
relationship you are in, or that has ended;
- Often young adults feel feel lonely,
depressed or anxious.
- Perhaps you want to learn to reach out and
form new relationships and social networks;
- Maybe you want to feel more confident, self
assured, or self affirming;
- Philosophical and spiritual questions about
values and meaning in life are questioned and
re-evaluated.
- And of course people of all ages may be
struggling with addiction issues.
I offer individual, couples and family counseling
which may be worthwhile in forging ahead and making
your own life to be an authentic and healthy
expression of who you really are.
We'll set goals, find your competencies, practice
them and set you on your way.
